Hosting Olympics is not an easy task. Apart from an enormous amount of work and preparation to accommodate hundreds of athletes and their supporting staff and millions of spectator, it takes a mind boggling amount of money to make it all possible. Then, why would any country go through all that hassle? Well, apart from all the fame and glory, there are some very valid reasons. The host countries stand to gain a lot more than they put in and in more case than not, the hard work and years of stress pays off brilliantly. The minutes are ticking away for the 2012 Olympics. UK has put in billions of pounds and years of efforts in making the event possible. The time to reap its benefits, is just around the corner.
