Pat Robertson on Monday warned all dieters on Monday that a low-carb diet such as the Atkins regimen goes totally against God’s principles and Muslim’s ‘Halal’ food funds terrorism.

The televangelist broached the topic on his show "The 700 Club" that airs on the Christian Broadcasting Network. He discussed how Jimmy Moore, a formerly obese man managed to lose 180 pounds in one year by reducing carbohydrates from his diet.

Robertson was of the opinion that Moore’s way of adopting a low-carb ‘crazy-eating’ diet was unhealthy and went against the principles laid down by God. He added that popular weight loss plans such as the Atkins diet had damaging effects on the human body."You get all kinds of problems where you ache like crazy. That's the truth of it, if you don't have some carbs in there. The carbs are the fire that burns everything,” he said.

Later in the segment, Robertson went on claiming that profits from Halal (food items that conform to the regulations of Muslim dietary law) butcheries from the United States were going to the Muslim Brotherhood, a notorious Islamist organization based in Middle East.

Robertson told his viewers that buying Halal products was an indirect way of funding the Muslim terrorist organizations of the world.

This isn’t the first time Pat Robertson made such obnoxious claims. He has made several of them in the past. Just recently he presented a theory about homosexual people ‘intentionally’ spreading AIDS through special rings which prompted immense criticism.
