Pat Robertson, on his show The 700 Club, predicted that notions like liberalism and atheism could take Europe back to the days of “Nazis” and “guillotines.”
Referring to a news report on Monday about a bill in Belgium that would make euthanasia legal for terminally-ill children, Robertson said the Nazi Germany’s “spirit of death” still existed inthe region.
“You know, the liberals, the so-called socialists, the progressives, they’ve moved away from God,” Robertson said.
“And when you move away from god, then you say, ‘We’re humanists.’ And then, as a result of humanity, and rejecting god, you have the orgy of the French Revolution, you have the guillotine cutting off the heads of thousands of people, you have the same thing going on now in Europe — you had it under the Nazis,” the televangelist explained.

This was not the first time Robertson established a connection between liberalism and Nazism. In an interview with columnist Molly Ivins in 1993, he claimed it was the “Democratic” Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals were playing the role of modern-day Nazis.
“Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again,” Robertson told Ivins.
