A hall near the entrance is plastered with many of the clever Google logo doodles from across the ages.

Google christened its new Los Angeles office on Thursday night with a party that featured top executives, L.A. glitterati and a speech by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

The company let visitors wander the 100,000-square-foot complex, a set of buildings designed by architect Frank Gehry and recently refitted with oodles of Googlesque flourishes. That means cafes, snack and juice bars, game rooms, a top-flight gym and plenty of whimsicality.

There's a little sitting room inside the binoculars sculpture. This is a view straight up, through the roof of the sculpture. A model of an oversized lightbulb hangs inside.

Hip office space with an industrial aesthetic takes up much of the campus.

Some Googlers will get smaller, enclosed offices, complete with rubber exercise balls.

The many meeting rooms spread across the site are named after L.A. landmarks like "Hollywood Sign" and "The Beverly Hills Hotel."

Google satellite offices are coming standard with these little "phone booth" rooms, where Google employees can videoconference into meetings back at the Googleplex, the company's mothership campus in Mountain View, Calif.

Googlers and visitors wander around the newly opened office, with some showing off current products.

Another hallway features a mural of a beach-bound lady Android.

These Android cookies are different from the cookies we detailed in our privacy article this week. But Google makes both kinds.

Google makes a variety of snacks and drinks available to its employees. Probably not wine, at least during work hours.

But the Venice office, in quintessential L.A. style, also has a permanent juice bar.
