Anti-Social Networking App Helps You Avoid Friends You Don't Like
Talk about new age problems - A social network for the anti-social? Cloak, a new app uses location data to make sure you never bump into people you don’t like.
It’s a rather amusing concept considering that most social media apps aim to make the world a smaller place, keeping us up to date with the lives and activities, literally reporting our friend’s activities on our “home”. For some, the world has become a little too small for comfort, and this app serves as a breath of fresh air.
By connecting Cloak to Foursquare and Instagram, the app brings up a map displaying your location and the locations of friends who have checked in close proximity. If there's someone you want to avoid, select "flag" and the app will notify you when that speical someone gets within a certain radius of you. A half mile is the pre set radius, however you can set it to be as small as one block or as big as two miles.
This app represents a paradox of sorts. The app paints a picture of Harry, Ron, and Hermione under the Invisibily Cloak to visit Hagrid before the Hippogriff, Buckbeak was sentenced to death for attacking Draco Malfoy.
