The official unveiling of Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is now just a month away, which means it’s about time we jot down a list of the cool, new features that the smartphone will have.
To begin with, the most interesting thing about the S5 is that it might come with an iris scanner. At the moment, it is a big might because Samsung hasn’t confirmed it, but, if it happens, it would a first for a mainstream gadget.
If that doesn’t get you excited, may be this next bit of information will. The S4’s successor will have a 16-megapixel rear camera and a monstrous 4,000 mAh battery to back it up. It should be noted here that the S4 had a 13-mp rear came and its battery was only 2600 mAh.
On top of it, if Samsung incorporates in it the technology it unveiled at last year’s CES, S5 could also become the first bendable phone. Rumor has it that the South Korean giants will release two different editions of it; one in plastic and the other in metallic form.
From the software point of view, the S5 will obviously come with the latest Android 4.4 Kit Kat version, although, as the Samsung is so fond of, it might also have the added flavor of TouchWiz. Like it or not, the overlay isn’t going anywhere.
Of course, the aforementioned details aren’t set in stone and they won’t be, until Samsung confirms it at Mobile World Congress on February 24 in Spain.
In the meantime, check out the S5 home screen that has been leaked by EVLeaks on Twitter:
