The South African-born entrepreneur teased the unveiling of what looks like another electric car, the "D," on Oct. 9.
There will also be "something else" in store, he says.
“F--k Earth! Who cares about Earth?” he joked.
“I think there is a strong humanitarian argument for making life multi-planetary... in order to safeguard the existence of humanity in the event that something catastrophic were to happen.”
This isn’t the first time the tech giant has spoken about the future of humans on the Red Planet.
At the AllThingsD's 2013 conference last year, he said, "Either we spread Earth to other planets, or we risk going extinct... An extinction event is inevitable and we’re increasingly doing ourselves in."
