SXSW 2014

Get ready, Friday March 6th brings the South by South West Music and Media Conference, showcasing hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on over eighty stages in downtown Austin.

SXSW conference is divided into three categories, so to speak- music, film and interactive.

Interactive: March 7 – 11

Film: March 7 – 16

Music: March 11 – 16

From all visible signs, SXSW 2014 is going to be grander and crazier this year.

It's a week of shows, discussion panels, new bands, fun and madness

Things to look out for would be:

EDWARD SNOWDEN

EDWARD SNOWDEN

Yes, the whistleblower will be one of the speakers at this year’s event. He obviously can’t be there in person but will be conversing with Christopher Soghoian, principal technologist with the American Civil Liberties Union's Speech, Privacy and Technology Project on the impact of the NSA's spying efforts and the ways in which technology can help to protect us from mass surveillance.

The Gaming Expo

As if Edward Snowden wasn’t enough, NASA and Pennzoil have come together at SXSW to make this year's gaming presence in SXSW one of the biggest yet.

Movies and Star Power

Look out for the likes of Lena Dunham, Nicholas Cage, Robert Rodriguez, Rob Corddry, Robert Duvall, and Jon Favreau and that’s not all. Films like Beyond Clueless (a doc about the "teen movie" genre), Doc of the Dead (a zombie documentary), and A Wolf at the Door, - a film about a kidnapped child in Rio de Janiero – and Boyhood, will also be shown at the event.

50 Cent

50 Cent

The rapper will headline a live-streaming musical showcase on March 11 in an exclusive and official South by Southwest concert at 1100 Warehouse.

Big Freedia

Big Freedia

New Orleans’ queen diva of bounce music was twerking before Miley Cyrus even probably knew what it was. The Big Easy drag queen (Freddie Ross) and her group of dancers are sure to spice up this year’s SXSW.

As if all of that is not enough, be ready for and do not miss out IFC Fairgrounds, iTunes Festival and of course all the mad, mad fun, concerts and memories to last a whole year till next year’s event.

You can get the whole schedule here.

So go ahead, grab your SXSW tickets and do not miss the fun.
