Silicon Valley isn’t known to be the best place for women and this latest attempt to "facilitate professional women" of the Valley is just another proof of the sad state of affairs.
Facebook and Apple are both providing their female workers the ability to freeze their eggs at the companies' expense.
"We continue to expand our benefits for women, with a new extended maternity leave policy, along with cryopreservation and egg storage as part of our extensive support for infertility treatments," Apple said in a statement.
"We want to empower women at Apple to do the best work of their lives as they care for loved ones and raise their families."
Great, isn’t it? Where millions worry about medical insurance for procedures like tooth extraction and childbirth, these magnanimous employers will be paying for a procedure that costs up to $20,000.
