The much-anticipated follow-up to the action-adventure video game has upset Klansmen because it lets players shoot at a Ku Klux Klan rally.

The third installment in the Mafia action-adventure video game series has unleashed a barrage of criticism from white supremacists.

The uproar came after the trailer for "Mafia III" showed protagonist Lincoln Clay shooting at a Ku Klux Klan rally.

Most of the reactions posted on Facebook have now been deleted primarily because of the racially charged nature of the conversation.

The new game is set in New Orleans during the 1960s — a period that was infamously marked by racial violence, hence, the KKK reference.

"Mafia III" is scheduled to be released on Oct. 7 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
