Meet Kuratas, The Million Dollar Robot Controlled By iPhone (Video)

So here it is the robot of the century. Japanese Electronics Company has unveiled a 13ft super robot which can be controlled with the help of an iPhone. Manufactured by Suidobashi Heavy Industry in Tokyo has brought a whole new meaning to ‘trigger-happy’.

Named as Kuratas the super robot is fitted with a futuristic weapon system which includes a heavy loaded gun capable of shooting 6,000 BB bullets per minute, which fires when the pilot smiles. The gigantic robot has a dual mechanism when it comes to operating. Kuratas, can either be controlled either through the one-man cockpit or from the outside using any smartphone connected to the 3G network.

The robot, which is set will go on sale for £900,000, has around 30 hydraulic joints which the pilot moves using motion control. Masterminds behind Kuratas which include engineers Wataru Yoshizaki and Kogoro Kurata were saluted in front of the Kuratas together with their pilot Anna when the robot was finally showcased at the Wonder Festival in Chiba.

 The team has been working on the development of this robot since 2010. With a top seed of 10 kilometers an hour Kuratas is definitely a breakthrough in robotic technology.
