New iPhone 5 Features

Everyone is buzzing about the new iPhone 5 features. Many people are excited for the new iPhone, but also skeptical because of disappointment from the past. When the iPhone 4S came out some were “disappointed by the minor upgrades”. Therefore many are asking, how much better is the iPhone 5? Keep reading to find out the new iPhone 5 features and see for yourself.  

Display

One of the biggest new features of the iPhone 5 is a larger screen with a 4-inch display. The iPhone 5 is available in black and white. It has a glass and aluminum finish. Apple reported, “The device is 18% thinner and 20% lighter.”

LTE

Another new feature on the iPhone 5 is faster speed capacity by using LTE technology (Long Term Evolution).

A6

The A6 chip is a new feature introduced to the iPhone 5 which helps increase its speed. According to SlashGear “The iPhone 5′s A6 chip has been touted as having 2x faster CPU performance than the previous chip and brings on 2x the graphics performance as well. This chip has been shown as bringing on launches of apps at nearly 2x the speed as the previous iPhone on the whole.”

Cameras

iSight has received some improvements as well. The iPhone 5 camera contains new features such as: backside illumination, 8 megapixels, and Panorama mode. According to Phil Schiller Panorama mode allows users to take larger horizontal pics and can “clock in at up to 28 megapixels”.

Dock Connector

The new iPhone 5 dock connectors name is “lightning”. Lightning is significantly smaller than the previous iPhone dock connector. Apple stated, “Lightning will be an all-digital 8-signal design with an adaptive interface and ‘improved durability’.

iOS 6

iOS is a mobile operating system. Apple’s iOS 6 is the latest version of Apple’s mobile operation system. iOS 6 will be released on sept. 19. iOS 6 will come with improved iMessage, Wi-Fi + Cellular, Siri, Passbook, Maps, YouTube, Facebook, iCloud Tabs, Facetime over 3G.
