New Samsung Galaxy S II Ad Clobbers Apple Fanatics (Video)

Wow. Samsung really wasn’t scared of stepping on a lot of toes with this advert. The show starts with long lines with Apple fanatics (as can be judged from the trademark earbuds) standing around for the store doors to open so that they can grab the next generation of iPhones, while they debate how someone would know if they upgraded the phone if it looks the same, the ‘sketchy’ battery or if it’s 4G or not. 

And while they are definitely hyped up and loyal to Apple, they can’t help but notice the Samsung S II and appreciate its ‘massive’ screen and declare it ‘magnificent’. Yet, still manage to say, “I could never get a Samsung…!”, coupled with a barista joke, that is the ultimate comment from an alleged Apple user – taking a real one-two shot at Apple fanboys’ inability to accept anything other than Apple, even if superior.

“We want to let people know that there is a better choice out there when it comes to purchasing a smartphone,” Samsung’s U.S. mobile unit marketing chief, Todd Pendleton, said in a statement. “You can have the latest, most innovative device without waiting in line.”

Samsung smartphones globally outsold Apple’s for the first time during the third quarter, but Apple remains the dominant force in the U.S. market.

In the end the ad declares the next big thing is already here, and it’s the Samsung Galaxy S II.
