Addressing the problem, the microblogging giant introduced a new 'Fave People' column in the alpha version of its Android app that groups preferred users in one section.

Progress on the Twittersphere

TechCrunch first reported the ‘Fave People’ feature which surfaced in an alpha version of Twitter's Android application, which is commonly used to test changes and promising features.

The app introduces the option to ‘favorite’ other users by tapping a star on their profiles and follow their tweets in the 'Fave People' section. The feature will also allow users to get notifications when their favorite user(s) post a new tweet.

The Fave People feature is comparable to Twitter lists, and the interaction is redolent of favoriting tweets.
