125 Mile Traffic Jam In Russia!

Your worst traffic jam story has nothing on this one: Russians travelling between Moscow and St. Petersburg got stuck in a 125 mile traffic jam. In temperatures below freezing. For three days. Government officials eventually offered some assistance, but they were criticized for not showing up fast enough or doing enough. Thousands of truckers had to idle for hours with their engines on, just to stay warm. The jam was caused largely by snowfall, which blocked all but one lane on the long stretch.

In other news, I grumbled to myself when traffic was backed up about half a mile in front of a tunnel on my morning commute. It took several minutes for things to start moving again.
