A 99-year-old woman who won a shopping spree at a 99 Cents Only Store on her birthday filled her cart with Christmas goods Thursday, but she had no plans to keep the toys and stockings for herself.Instead, Donna Goldstein decided she was going to use her shopping spree at the Beverly Grove store to make holiday stockings for children in need and donate them throughout the community.“Sometimes we don’t realize how much is needed. I feel bad that I can’t do it for everyone, but it makes me feel very good that I am able to do what I can,” Goldstein said.Read KTLA’s story here: http://on.ktla.com/c7UaEPosted by KTLA 5 News on Thursday, 10 December 2015
A 99-year-old California resident Donna Goldstein got lucky when she happened to win a shopping spree.
But instead of spending the money on herself, the kind lady decided to help children in need and soon made her way down to a 99 Cents Only Store. Goldstein picked up a bunch of gifts to stuff stockings for local kids so that she could brighten up their Christmas with the presents.
”Im gonna cry because I’m so happy, I think that’s what it’s gonna be, because this is gonna go to the needy,” Goldstein said to KTLA 5.
“Sometimes we don’t realize how much is needed. I feel bad that I can’t do it for everyone, but it makes me feel very good that I am able to do what I can,” she added.
To appreciate Goldstein’s kind efforts store employees threw her a small birthday party with a cake, certificate of recognition and birthday song.
