A small boy has a better idea of where our planet is headed than most adults do—six-year-old Henry Marr burst into tears at the thought of what’s happening to our environment.
According to the Huffington Post, Marr had seen a bird eat trash during his school day, which affected him emotionally. His mother picked him up from school and she began to film her son as he cried about the state of the environment:
“The planet is just going to be wrecked. People are just being rude to it. They throw trash on the ground. They cut down trees. They make forests into ... roads. They are just being so bad. I could just call them dumb people or maybe even a bad word, the ‘S’ word.”
Marr’s mother, Allie Hall, posted the video on Facebook where it immediately went viral, having gained over 17 million views at this point. She expressed that, “I had no idea he was this passionate about our planet.”
Marr’s words, though simple, should resonate with most people who largely ignore environmental ramifications of their actions: “[People] need to think about what they are doing and what they are doing to the planet and what they are doing to animals.”
Leave it to a six-year-old boy to speak the truth when it comes to an important issue.
Facebook commenters clearly agreed, and praised Marr for being so passionate about the environment when most full-grown individuals are apathetic.
This little child undoubtedly brought awareness to an incredibly significant problem we are facing—we need more adults exactly like him.
