Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul, who plays Walter White's wisecracking sidekick Jesse on the show, took to SNL last weekend in order to help out Barack Obama (played by Jay Pharoah) promote the Affordable Care Act to viewers at home. Aaron Paul dressed and acted like Jesse Pinkman throughout the SNL opening sketch. In the SNL open shown below, Jesse makes a large effort to promote Obama’s healthcare system as it will help a certain cancer-stricken friend of his get the medical care he needs. Check out the hilarious video here (Aaron Paul appears as Jessie at the 4:39 mark).
Paul as Pinkman begins to talk about his “friend” to Barack Obama and the viewers at home. He states, “He did what any of us would have done. He started cooking meth. And soon it wasn't just meth, it was murder. And not regular murder, he blew half a guy's face off."
Jessie’s “friend” is of course Walter White who went on to do a bunch of crazy stuff along with Jessie in last night’s Breaking Bad series finale.
As Jessie continues to talk, Barack Obama loses his patience with the crass degenerate, and tries to usher him away from the podium.
"Wait," Paul said. "You don't want to know what happened to my friend?"
Both Obama and the crowd then gave Aaron Paul an astounding “NO”. Even SNL fans don’t want to be spoiled on what turned out to be one the best final episodes in television history
Aaron Paul nails it as Jessie Pinkman here. He also does a somewhat decent job of promoting the Affordable Care Act! Honestly, if Walt had better insurance to begin with, all the meth making and Gus exploding never would have happened to begin with.
After Aaron Paul’s surprise appearance as Jesse Pinkman, host Tina Fay continued the laughs and made this SNL premiere one of the best ever.
