You've heard of people who've gotten divorced, only to remarry in however many years' time. But that's not why this bride and groom are meeting at the altar once more.
Jeremy and Justice Stamper tied the (first) knot on August 1st 2014 at Hungry Mother State Park and it was, by Jeremy's own admission, “perfect.”
“We had our wedding, reception, and even honeymooned in the Smokey Mountains. We were at the top of the world, newlyweds and our whole lives head of us.”
But just 19 days after the wedding, their happiness was cut short. While traveling to her aunt's house, and to meet her husband after work, Justice was struck hard by a vehicle.
“She was yielding to oncoming traffic to turn left on a side road when she was rearended at a dead stop at about 50 MPH plus. The exact speed is not known.”
Justice pulled through, though barely. But a month after the accident, she admitted something to her husband:
“I don't want you to be mad...but I do not remember the wedding.”
She had developed amnesia. She didn't remember the reception, or the planning. In fact, she didn't even know that they had gotten married. She could hardly believe it.
Jeremy was heartbroken, but resolute.
“Instantly [I] said I would do it all again for her”
“I promised her I would take care of her and now here we are.”
The Stamper Wedding Round 2.
The Groom-To-Be-Again started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help finance their second wedding, and the community embraced them and their strength with open arms. The couple has already raised $5400 dollars.
The second wedding is due on the anniversary of their first. Love comes full circle.
