Xkcd, grand poobah of web comics, will once in a while release an infographic that helps you understand the world better. On Monday, it happened again:

What in the world are you looking at? Frequency. When a box flashes, that thing happens, on average of course. From this we can see that people get married at about the same rate that they register domains, and those things happens just a tick more often than a fishing boat catching a shark. Poor sharks.

Sadly, cats kill mockingbirds much more frequently than someone buys Harper Lee's classic, To Kill A Mockingbird.

As you would expect, we produce plastic bottles much faster than we recycle them.

Denver residents order pizzas at around the same rate as little leaguers strike out (though I have no idea where that stat came from), which may have something to do with a recent law passed in Colorado.

And finally, xkcd answers a question that we have all wondered for years: how often does a Sagittarius named Amelia drink a soda?
