Alabama was crushing Notre Dame from the outset and ESPN actually needed a way to keep its audience and their broadcasters, interested in the game.
Then entered the savior, Katherine Webb!
The ESPN cameras found QB AJ McCarron’s girlfriend Katherine Webb, who was sitting with McCarron's mom, Dee Dee Bonner. Webb on screen gave Brent Musburger probably the most thrilling moment of the first quarter. The exchange that took place between the two announcers Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit, was hilarious yet uncomfortable.
After calling Webb, a "lovely lady," 73-year-old Musburger continued, "You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman.""Wow!" Kirk Herbstreit said. "Whoa!" Musburger exclaimed!"AJ's doing some things right down in Tuscaloosa," Herbstreit further added. "If you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pop," Musburger said
