We have seen multiple rescue stories before on the internet but none of them involved a beard!
Reddit user Spongi was attempting to hatch chicken eggs, he failed miserably but one the eggs did hatch and a cute baby duckling came out of it. He named it Peeps. They are now BFFs.
Everyone meet Peeps.
Here’s what his owner writes: So now I had a duckling. A single solitary duckling. Ducks are very social, raising a single duck is basically a death sentence, they will die of loneliness. I took it upon myself to spend some quality time with the little peep, so it would have enough social interaction to not get lonely. I kept his 'house' next to my bed for the first few weeks.”
And then came up with a very unusual way of keeping him close to him.
“Peeps doesn't have a mother's wing to go under, so my beard had to do.”
Peeps pooped a lot so he had to keep a towel!
There were some troubles too but it was fun.
Here’s Peeps posing for a selfie with his owner.
This is day 25 and Peeps looks all grown up.
Peeps doesn’t fit in his beard after 41 days, but the adorable duck loves to relax on his shoulders and they enjoy watching TV together.
“Still haven't determined if Peeps is male or female. I'm waiting for the tail feathers to come in but that'll be another month or 6 weeks. I have 3 more duck eggs incubating, should be ready to hatch in a week and a half or so. Peeps will have some friends in time for spring.”
And we love this duo. What do you think about their cute story? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
