Dozens of baboons at Knowsley Safari Park have been let loose on a brand new car.
Makers of the Hyundai New Generation i30 hatchback wanted the animals to go bananas on the car, which has been specially designed for families and their 'little monkeys', to test its durability.
The manufacturer said that after ten hours of monkeying around, the paintwork was smeared and scraped on the outside, but claim the hard-wearing paint protected the car from significant scratches and chips.
David Ross, General Manager at Knowsley Safari Park, said: "For a baboon, to have a car to play with for a whole day is manna from heaven!"
He added: "These baboons are incredibly inquisitive. If you put them on any car they will scour it for the weak points and find any faults."
