Disney princesses are no longer damsels in distress, in fact, they are ready to rip people out with their sharp claws and gobble them down for dinner – all thanks to the brilliant, yet slightly terrifying imagination of a China-based artist.

Illustrator Laura Cooper combined her love for dinosaurs and Disney to create a photo series of Velociraptor princesses, or “Velociprincesses,” as she likes to call them.

Her inspiration for this project came from Jurassic World – and frankly, with the entire hullabaloo surrounding the franchise, this combo was just waiting to happen.

“I begged my parents to let me go to see Jurassic Park when I was a kid, but I was too little,” Cooper told Mashable. “When my brother came home, he told me all about how big, scary and wonderful all the dinosaurs were, especially the raptors! So seeing the raptors on screen [in Jurassic World] was just too much for me to handle.”

“After the movie, I went home and couldn't stay focused on anything. I kept thinking about how they just ate everything! All the people were getting eaten! What if they were princesses?! What if they were magical, wonderful, beautiful people!?” she added.

Well, she answered her own question by creating this awesome series.
