A very disturbing and somewhat twisted video of a woman (mot probably the mother) holding a crying toddler while he’s being tattooed.
Throughout the video the terrified boy cries and wiggles trying to escape but in vain.
The video is understood to be from Havana, Cuba.
It was uploaded on YouTube and has had a fierce lash back from viewers not only on YouTube itself but all over the internet!
The Sun also goes as far as asking readers and viewers for the identity of the woman in the video: “DO you know the identity of the mum? Ring us on 0207 782 4104 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.”
Understandably, the general reaction to the video has been fury and disbelief aimed at the mother for putting her child through the trauma.
But is it possible that the video isn’t all it seems to be? Many cultures hold tattoos and piercing very highly yet so the debate on how young a person should be for such cultural submission is not a new one as well.
In the case of this video however, we don’t have a way of knowing whether it was a cultural thing or just a mother’s whim. But it could be either of the two.
So, along with the rage online, there are some who also feel otherwise. They also speculate on what the tattoo itself is and what it may mean. Some say it appears to be a small “666”and the tattooing may just be a part of a ritual.
As such, not much can be said about it. When it comes to customs and traditions, a lot of practices (piercings, circumcisions, etc) can be questioned but are justified by the ones practicing.
