May, 3, 2014: A Pit Bull Terrier stole two players’ gloves, and incidentally the show, at a recent WOU softball game.

Last Sunday, a dog barged into a game of softball between Western Oregon University (WOU) and Simon Fraser University (B.C.). He then proceeded to steal one player’s glove, and then another’s.

The players and the crowd watched in delightful surprise as the furry canine hopped merrily across the field with a glove in his mouth. He was later called off the field, which was kind of unfair since all he wanted to do was to play.

The Pit Bull became a celebrity overnight as a video of his playful thievery not only went viral on YouTube, but got featured on ESPN Sports Centre, CNN, Fox Sports, USA Today, and Good Morning America, among other news outlets.

That’s really something you don’t see every day.” The announcer was right.
