Come On Ladies, It's OK To Call Yourself Beautiful

Dove tries to find out how many women choose “beautiful” over “average.”

In a new experiment, Dove put up two signs that read “beautiful” and “average” above doorways in different cities across the world including San Francisco, London, Shanghai, Delhi and Sao Paulo and asked women to walk through one of them.

A lot of the participants, unsurprisingly, chose the “average” door thus proving most women fail to acknowledge their beauty.

In fact, a recent survey conducted by Dove found while 80 percent women believe they could see little things about themselves that appear attractive, 96 percent would not choose the word “beautiful” to describe their looks.

The latest video is a part of Dove's new #ChooseBeautiful campaign that encourages women to recognize their beauty.

"Women make thousands of choices each day – related to their careers, their families, and, let's not forget, themselves," the company said in a statement. "Feeling beautiful is one of those choices that women should feel empowered to make for themselves, every day."
