The description on Duracell’s official YouTube page reads:
”When the world tells you "no", you have two options: You can roll over and quit -- or you can trust your power. Derrick Coleman, running back for the Seattle Seahawks, trusted the power within.”
Since the age of three, Derrick’s deaf. He was rejected multiple times, but he never gave up. Now he is in the NFL, and that’s what the commercial is about; to ‘Trust your power’.
One Reddit user commented on the video:
That might be the best Nike/Gatoraid/Under Armor/Reebok commercial Duracell has ever made. Go Hawks!!!
Here’s what others had to say about the brilliant advertisement.
"I've been deaf since I was three, so I didn't listen..."
Wow, that got me.
I went to high school with him, and although he was two years older than me, I still actually knew him pretty well. He was one of the nicest people ever and it's awesome to see his hard work get him this far.
That ending line of "And I can hear them all" goddamn.
Check out the commercial above which totally getting viral on the internet, gaining lots and lots of hits.
