Diners at Fowlerville Farms Family Restaurant in Michigan were in for a big surprise when an SUV driven by an elderly woman came barreling through the wall.
The 74-year-old unnamed driver was behind the wheel of her daughter’s Jeep when she accidentally put it into the wrong gear and sent the vehicle plowing into the restaurant.
Luckily, no one was hurt as a result of the incident, but she did create a huge hole in the building, CNN reports.
According to a police report from the incident, the woman is a diabetic and started feeling shaky while she was driving. She intended to pull off the road and grab something to eat with her daughter and two grandchildren who were in the car with her. However, as she pulled into the restaurant parking lot she mistakenly pressed down on the gas pedal instead of the brakes.
"She just floored it, and she just went all the way inside the store," Fowlerville Farms Family Restaurant owner Sam Jishi reportedly told CNN. "Everybody got up and got out of the way as she came flying through."
What a frightening, yet exhilarating experience it must have been for the patrons, staff, and occupants of the vehicle. Police confirmed that the woman did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Luckily for us, there is video footage of the shocking moment that the unexpected guests bolted through the restaurant.
That was a close one!
