Former Shoplifter Has Change Of Heart When Cop Pays It Forward

"She told me to grab a buggy and lets go shopping," the woman wrote for the Love What Matters Facebook page. "Officer Katrina spent $139 on food for me, Logan and Skylar."

A woman who shoplifted food from a Walmart last year in Alabama received an incredible gift from none other than a police officer.

The story was posted to the Love What Matters Facebook page, and has since gone viral.

According to the post, the woman went to court and acquired paperwork for her crime. An officer asked her to wait for her outside the courthouse, and from there, the woman followed her to a Winn-Dixie grocery store.

"She told me to grab a buggy and lets go shopping," the caption reads. "Officer Katrina spent $139 on food for me, Logan and Skylar. After I told her she didn't have to do it she started telling me her struggle and how she made it through."

She continued, "When my time comes I will pay it forward. Thank you again officer Katrina at Dothan Police Department."

Audience reaction has been positive, with Facebook users applauding the woman for sharing her story, as well as the generous service woman.

In no small way, Officer Katrina has made a difference in the life of a woman who was once so desperate that she turned to crime.

Thank you, Officer.
