The cat with the most withering glare in the world has just earned her owner Tabatha Bundesen $99.5 million.

"What she's achieved in such a short time is unimaginable and absolutely mind-blowing,” she says.

"I was able to quit my job as a waitress within days of her first appearance on social media and the phone simply hasn't stopped ringing since," she added.

Just to put Bundesen’s windfall in context, the cat earns more than the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow ($18.6 million) and Christiano Ronaldo ($42.2 million) combined!

Guess what?

Grumpy is not the only feline to make more money than you, me and the likes of Ronaldo.

The footage uploaded on YouTube attracted over 16.8 million views in the first 48 hours. Go figure.

Maru the Cat

The male Scottish Fold from Japan became popular on YouTube. Videos featuring Maru have an average of 800,000 views each and he is mentioned often in print and televised media discussing Internet celebrities.

The late cat (it died in 1987) is still worth $21,100-$175,800 for its owner.

The famous Internet meme came from a video from 1984 of a cat called "Fatso" wearing a blue shirt and "playing" an electronic keyboard. The video was posted to YouTube under the title "charlie schmidt's cool cats" in June 2007. Schmidt later changed the title to "Charlie Schmidt's Keyboard Cat (THE ORIGINAL)".
