850 employees of La Quinta Inn & Suites gathered at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on Tuesday to set a new Guinness World Record for longest chain of human mattress dominoes. The predecessor record was set by 550 people in Belgium. And just FYI the Guinness World Records Academy also recognizes a current record of human dominoes minus the mattresses, which was set by 10, 267 people.
The mattresses used for this record were donated by the Simmons Bedding Company and now these will be donated to local charities. It took several minutes for hundreds of people to fall back into each other but the New Orleans crowd erupted in cheers when it was over. A Guinness World Records representative was on-site to judge the event and present the World Record certificate in Louisiana.
