Now this is probably the best surprise one can get, and that too from a random stranger!
A junk collector surprised a Massachusetts family by returning them $114,000, worth of saving bonds that they unknowingly trashed.
Leo Guarente, the owner of a garbage collection company called Junk Depot, found the money when a family hired him to clear out their mother’s home after she had died of cancer.
Guarente also arranged a television crew to shoot the entire scene as he returned the envelope of bonds back to Marie Veloso's who lives in Medford. Marie was clearly surprised and overjoyed at the news.
'Shock. Overwhelmed. Overwhelmed,' she said as she described her feeling to a local TV station.
She said that she is glad that her brother Joe was standing behind her when she got the news so that she didn't fall over.
