An unknown Muslim man went to the mourning site of the Paris attacks at Place de la Republique and put down two cardboard signs.

One read: "I'm a Muslim, but I am told that I'm a terrorist." The other : "I trust you, do you trust me? If yes, hug me."

What followed was an emotional display of sentiments with people from all walks of life coming forward and hugging him throughout the day. These were Parisians who had just days ago endured the deadliest terror attack on their country since World War II.

"A terrorist is a terrorist, someone willing to kill another human being over nothing," he said after removing his blindfold. "A Muslim would never do that. Our religion forbids it.”
