Ladies and gentleman, the first, and possibly last seconds of A.J. Clemente's career as a news anchor (Warning: profane language):
That was the beginning of Clemente's first ever live-broadcast with KYFR-TV out of Bismarck, North Dakota. It's not clear why A.J. felt the need to utter "f*cking sh*t" at that moment, but in the high-stakes world of live TV, it was enough to cost him his job:
Unfortunately KFYRTV has decided to let me go. Thank you to them and everyone in ND for the opportunity and everyone for the support.— A.J. Clemente (@ClementeAJ) April 22, 2013
Of course, in exchange for employment, Clemente now has his 15 minutes of fame to work with, and it seems like he's trying to parlay that into more work:
Find #teamAJ a job— A.J. Clemente (@ClementeAJ) April 22, 2013
This might be the best thing that ever happened to Clemente. Deadspin and the Opie & Anthony show have already reached out to him for interviews. All he has to do is keep this beach ball in the air long enough to land a book deal, a reality tv spot, or, hey, maybe another gig as an anchor:
"Hi, my name is A.J. Clemente, and here is tonight's f*cking news."
