Nurses deal with traumatic situations every day, but this video proves these underrated caretakers are by no means desensitized or unable to develop loving bonds with their patients.

Bailey Miller, a Texas teenager, was paralyzed from the waist down for 11 days without any explanation. Her mother, Becky Miller, shared a video on Facebook last week showing Bailey surprising her nurse by standing up from her wheelchair.

The Youtube description reads:

“Our daughter, Bailey, had complete paralysis from the waist down for 11 days with no explanation as to why. This video is one of her favorite nurses coming onto her shift and not knowing that Bailey had started walking this day.”

The nurse immediately bursts into tears and hugs Bailey intensely. Miller said doctors do not know what caused Bailey’s paralysis.

Commenters on Reddit and Youtube used the video as an opportunity to commemorate nurses.

“This woman is the kind of person we should all try to emulate,” one commenter wrote
