These offices of the world tell the stories of their local culture.

Governmental practices around the world differ from each other, and offer varying nuances of the local culture of the region.

To capture the contrasting nature of these settings, photographer Jan Banning visited eight countries and photographed workstations of their civil servants. Through his photos series "Bureaucratics," Banning has shown how the state of a country's overall prosperity or plight reflects in the offices of its bureaucrats.
