Preacher Believes Women Should 'Be Silent' In Church

The pastor of an Arizona church, Steven Anderson, has a radical take on the role women should play during worship services.

Steven Anderson is no stranger to controversy. The pastor of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, AZ,  he once told an interviewer that gays should get fatal "brain cancer" and also said he prayed for the death of President Obama, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Then, late last month, during a sermon at his church, Anderson cited Scripture in arguing that female members of the congregation should largely remain silent during services -- including refraining from using the word "amen."
