Leave it to India to make us realize we are wasting precious resources. The #IceBucketChallenge is apparently old news now, as the #RiceBucketChallenge is charity with direct effect.
Created by Manju Latha Kalanidhi in Hyderabad, India, the challenge focuses on providing the impoverished with a bucket of rice. In just two days, the challenge went viral in India.
Quite a lot of people are willing to take the Rice Bucket Challenge than its predecessor, the Ice Bucket Challenge, both because they can relate to it better and because water is considered a precious resource in majority of Indian towns and cities.
The rules of the challenge are quite simple: once the challenge is accepted and completed, the picture must be shared on Facebook to ensure the challenge goes viral.
Support the #RiceBucketChallenge and take the initiative away from the morons who made the ice bucket challenge into a ego fest.— sunil r nair (@spuriousmallu) August 25, 2014
