Watch The Moment Richard Branson Helps A Girl Hear Her First Words

“It is amazing how simple the hearing aid is, and what a profound impact it can make,” Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, says.

Richard Branson recently posted on his blog about helping a young girl hear for the very first time and the story has caught the attention of Internet users.

“I have been fortunate to do some very exciting things in my lifetime. But helping a young girl to hear for the very first time was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had,” he  wrote.

Since 1984, Starkey Hearing Foundation, founded by William F. Austin has provided more than 1.8 million hearing aids to children and adults in need, reaching out to approximately 100 countries.

Starkey has been in a healthcare clinic opened by Branson’s Virgin Unite in 2007, four years in a row and Branson collaborated with them to provide almost 400 people in Kenya and South Africa with hearing aids.

“It is amazing how simple the hearing aid is, and what a profound impact it can make,” wrote Branson. “I can’t begin to imagine how life-changing hearing all of the wonderful noises in the world for the first time would be.”

In the video posted above the young girl is overjoyed upon hearing her first few words and gasps as she is finally able to hear.
