In a story that’s almost too good to be true, a Russian corpse comes back to life inside a morgue only to stop by and have a drink where his friends were mourning his death.
According to the local Russian newspaper Khasanskiye Vesti, an unnamed local man gathered all his friends to have a drink. All was well until suddenly, out of nowhere, he “dropped dead.” His friends called the police, who then called the paramedics, and his body was taken to the local morgue.
It was there that the miracle allegedly happened.
Detective Alexey Stoev is quoted as saying that the man literally came back from the dead right there in the morgue:
"That night, the local morgue was filled to capacity. The bodies were not only on the shelves, but also on the floor of the freezer, where our dead hero lay. At some point, the man woke up and did not understand where he was. It was very dark and cold. Plus his brain was fogged by the alcohol. In the darkness, he felt the cold extremities of someone and in fear rushed to the door. But it was locked. Then the man began banging on the door with all his might."
It wasn’t until later that a female employee heard the banging on the door. When she initially called the police, they didn’t believe her. They did eventually make their way to the morgue to open the freezer door and found that the dead man was very much alive and well.
The police, bewildered beyond all belief, let the man go after taking a statement, not sure how else to proceed. Instead of going home, however, the paper reports that the man made his way back to his friends who were already mourning his death.
What a surprise that must have been! Such a surprise, in fact, that the paper reports one of the friends fainted when they opened the door for him.
This story, unfortunately, is impossible to verify, so it might just have to go down as one of the best tales this side of the internet has seen in a while.
