Best Christmas Ever. #fostertoadopt #siblingsneedtosticktogether #olderchildadoptionisthebest #ourfamilyiscomplete #fostercarePosted by Sarah R Perks on Thursday, December 25, 2014
Oregon parents Sarah and Michael Perks captured one of the most wonderful moments possible—their foster children reading the adoption papers that officially made them a part of the family.
The Perks had created a home for siblings Corbin, 13, Kierra, 8, and Damien, 4, and wanted to adopt all three children to keep the family intact. The heartwarming video shows the children unwrapping the finalized adoption papers on Christmas, and one of the Perks’ biological children exclaiming, “You’re one of us now!”
Michael Perks told People that, “We thought it would be a good idea to put their adoption papers under the tree. We thought it would be a great surprise. It would be the best present that we could give them."
Although the video is from last Christmas, it recently went viral to the surprise of the Perks. Michael says that the family is closer than ever: “My daughters are inseparable. Corbin and my biological son are the best of friends."
