Hunger can make a man go to any extent, and this Australian teen just proved the statement true.

McDonalds Cheeseburger Storm

A severe storm in South Australia on Tuesday came at the worst possible time for a teen named Tamara Barker, who was craving a cheeseburger.

Barker decided decided nothing could come between her and her love for fast food as she grabbed her best friend’s kayak to make her way down to the local Port Lincoln McDonald's. Amused workers looked on as they served her four hot cheeseburgers from the drive-thru.

Her sister took a photograph as the food was passed on to Barker, and the image was later posted on the South Australian Weather Facebook page, where it attracted significant attention of social media users.

"It was definitely worth getting the kayak. I had so much fun, I paddled about 20 meters down the drive-thru and I was paddling in the car park as well," Barker told Mashable Australia. "The flood level was above my knee and did minor water damage to some local business but it wasn't too bad."

A water pump near McDonald’s and other stores on the main road had failed in the midst of the storm, causing a huge mess.

Interestingly, this is not the first time someone has gone the extra mile for their love of food. Andy George made headlines after he spent six months and a whopping amount of $1,500 to separately grow and harvest all the ingredients for a sandwich he gobbled down in 10 minutes.
