Students Tackle Trump’s Election With ‘Trump Is Coming’ Challenge

by
As tens of thousands of Americans protest Trump’s victory, students across the U.S. are taking a slightly lighter stance on the situation.

The election of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States received a lot of backlash in the form of protests across the U.S.

The number of hate crimes towards minorities  – particularly African Americans, Muslims and Mexicans, also experienced a significant rise. Now, as people wait for the results of a Trump presidency to unveil, students in various colleges and universities in the United States are taking on the #TrumpIsComing challenge.

While the recent #MannequinChallenge went viral on social media, with students freezing during various activities as a camera recorded them, this new challenge has one student shouting “Trump is coming,” after which everyone runs as fast as they can.

Although, social media users are applauding the younger generation for their creativity and light-hearted take on the political situation, it is possible that these students are in fact depicting their fright of the new president elect.

The day right after Trump’s victory saw white supporters pulling off Muslims’ headscarves and chanting, “build the wall.” Since then, more and more similar instances have come into the light. It is obvious that people are now full of fear, and this new social media challenge depicts just that, of course, with a funny twist.
