Local media say the man was homeless and had been given permission to stay at the center.

The video was posted on a local news website and has sparked outrage from local politicians who have called for the officers’ suspension.

Local media say the man is being charged with assaulting a police officer, trespassing, resisting arrest and harassment.

The New York Police Department has not yet issued a comment.
