To better reflect on the deluge of terrible, bigoted statements made by Donald Trump in the past few days, Trevor Noah went to The Daily Show’s own senior political correspondent, Hasan Minhaj, to get a Muslim perspective on the situation.
Minhaj, surprisingly, finds Trump’s halt on Muslim immigration completely valid, but not because Mulims are a danger—more like, they’re in danger. As Minhaj perfectly encapsulates, “One-third of a major political party in America is backing a racist maniac. This place is scary right now! And that’s why Trump said we can’t have any Muslims enter the U.S. until we figure out what the hell is going on.”
Minhaj then offers his own theories for exactly what is going on—maybe Trump’s self-sabotaging and keeps crossing an apparently nonexistent line to try and get out of running for president? But more enlightening is Noah and Minhaj’s realization of who Trump truly is:
“Donald Trump is an extremist leader who came out of nowhere. He’s self-financed, recruits through social media, attracts his followers with a radical ideology to take over the world, and is actively trying to promote a war between Islam and the West.”
That’s right—Trump is white (or, more accurately, orange) ISIS.
