These Two Sisters Gave The Wedding Toast To End All Wedding Toasts

Indrani Sengupta
You've probably heard the phrase "best wedding toast of all time" before. Anyone who's spent any time on the Internet has. Well, it's time to shut down the Internet, because...

Sisters Maddie and Kelsey Hallerman are the bridesmaids/sisters you wish you had. After round upon round of your usual sappy fare, their colorful, endearingly off-key, and downright hilarious ode to sister Caitlin and her new husband John Weaver is exactly what the wedding party (and the Internet) needed.

"Now, to know Caitlin is to know of her undying love for MJ, Tracy Chapman, Whitney and Mariah (which we didn't dare to attempt), and we just knew incorporating some [of] these songs would be the best way to represent her.”

What follows is five minutes of spirited parody of some of Caitlin’s favorite musicians. A twist on Tracey Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason” serves as an intro. They recount Caitlin’s childhood to the tune of “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5. Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody” becomes a spirited description of the happy couple’s first meeting at USC, and Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” becomes their proposal anthem. The dynamic duo ends, aptly, with a classic gospel hymn—“O Happy Day”—to commemorate the wedding day itself.

The crowd is rapt. The groom can be seen mouthing “wow, wow.” The bride, by the end, is reduced to tears of laughter, and joy.

This is not an act you’d want to follow.
