We’re all loosely aware that commercials follow certain formulas, but sometimes we need some good satire to remind us of what’s going on.

The next time you watch an ad, notice how little they actually tell you about the product. Car commercials will give you a couple of details (miles per gallon, maybe the price), but the rest of it is just how cool you’ll feel. Coke and Budweiser make some excellent 30 second movies, but they don’t tell you a whole lot about the liquid in the can. Marketing researchers have determined that the way to get you to buy their product doesn’t involve giving you a lot of information.

Ignore the ads. Read reviews, do actual research, and recognize that most beer that advertises on TV is really bad.
