An usher got into a spontaneous dance off with an exuberant kid at an NBA game between the Pistons and Knicks.
The dance cam is usually a random diversion to keep fans from getting bored during a break, but in Tuesday’s Knicks-Pistons game, it was the most exciting part of the night. The first 25 seconds is standard dance cam stuff: the camera jumps to the few brave souls who are actually dancing. Then, at 0:26, the dance cam finds The Kid.
The Kid is in the middle of a row, and no one around him is dancing, but that doesn’t stop him. He busts out every move he’s got, like he’d been waiting for his moment to shine, and finally it came. Just as The Kid is running low on moves, the dance cam jumps to The Usher. The Usher is just standing when the dance cam jumps to him, but he is clearly the Pistons’ dance cam ace. He has moves that most people should reserve for their alone time in front of a mirror, but The Usher has them down cold.
The dance cam jumps back to The Kid, who is up to the challenge, and for the next thirty seconds (which is a long time for a dance off) we get some top notch Usher vs. Kid dance action.
If only the Knicks could get their act together, the night would have had two worthwhile contests. The Pistons handed them their seventh loss, and the Usher and Kid danced off to a thrilling tie.
