Chris Picco lost is family in less than a week. His wife Ashley, 30, died in her sleep on Nov.8. Lennon was delivered by emergency C-section at 24 weeks, and died on Nov. 11 after a four day fight.
Before the baby died, Picco spent four days with his son. He and his belated wife, who were based in Southern California, recently celebrated their seventh anniversary. They both loved music. So he took out his guitar and gave the baby a concert.
“So I thought, I'm going to get my guitar. Ashley would want me to sing to my son and play to my son," he told ABC News station KABC in Los Angeles.
Lennon died wearing an outfit with guitar patterns that his mother bought for him.
A weekend memorial is planned for Ashley and Lennon, and a memorial fund has been set up.
Picco’s loss is tremendous and a reminder of other widows who have done things for their belated spouses.
In December 2013, Ben Nunery recreated his wedding day photos with his 3-year-old daughter is remembrance of his belated wife Ali who died of cancer a year after their daughter was born.
